Volunteers' Week Spotlight - Granite City Brawlers
During Volunteers’ Week we’re taking the time to shine a light on the volunteers who power the third sector across Aberdeen and the North-east.
Today we turn our attention to the volunteers behind Granite City Brawlers.
Granite City Brawlers are powered by their volunteers and have taken part in our August weekend.
Granite City Brawlers are an MRDA member league based in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Volunteers' Week is opportunity to celebrate volunteering in all its diversity, like sport.
In fact, sports clubs and groups attract more volunteers than any other sector; over 6 million people give up their time, skills and enthusiasm to help others get active.
Chris from the Brawlers told us;
"Roller Derby is a grassroots sport and volunteers are key to its growth. Everyone within our club volunteers in some way internally and externally, in order to help our club and community grow."
