Our Fit Like? Aberdeen hubs are a group of services in Northfield, Balgownie, and Kincorth working together with children and their families throughout the city.
Across Aberdeen we are seeing significant numbers of young children disengaged from education and unable to leave home due to feelings of anxiety as well as a huge increase in the number of children and young people referred to Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) .
We help families to identify their strengths and work with them at their pace to build on these. Reducing the likelihood of these needs escalating, it minimises the distress and disruption experienced by children and helps the whole family to recover from their experiences.
We make it easy for families to reach out for support that feels non-stigmatising and non-threatening with drop-in Saturday sessions, supper clubs and holiday programmes with an outdoor focus to give them an easy and unstructured way to get to know us. By building trust together, families feel more comfortable reaching out to us for support and we can respond with additional help at the first sign of distress.

Kayleigh's Wee Stars
Kayleigh's Wee Stars is a local charity established in 2012 by Jonathan and Anna Cordiner after losing their 2 year old daughter Kayleigh to a terminal illness. With a desire to help other families, the charity was set up to offer support to families caring for a terminally ill child.
Our funds help families, many of whom have to give up work, to cover essential living costs and other expenses associated with caring for their child, such as travel to hospital and hospices or childcare for siblings. Additionally our funds are used to purchase specialist equipment or to allow home modifications to ensure the child can stay at home for their final weeks or months and be safe and comfortable. We also fund short breaks for families to spend some last precious time together. Kayleigh's Wee Stars is there to ensure no family caring for a terminally ill child should have to worry about money.

MCR Pathways
The MCR Charity was established in 2007 to support young people, including those who are
care-experienced, or have experienced disadvantage, to help them realise their full potential through education.
Our aim is to help young people unlock their potential, no matter their circumstances. Working together with our inspiring mentor community and partners,
we can help young people to realise their skills and progress onto a positive destination. Our vision is for all young people to experience an equality of education
outcomes, career opportunities and life chances.
At the core of the MCR Pathways programme is one to one relationship-based mentoring focused on building confidence, belief and self-esteem. Our volunteer
mentors spend an hour each week listening to and encouraging a young person in
their school.
